Sharon’s Chocolate Pudding

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
2  1/2 cups milk (nonfat is fine)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in a medium-sized saucepan.  Place over medium heat and add milk slowly, stirring with a whisk.  Cook, stirring, until pudding thickens.  Continue to cook and stir 3 more minutes.  Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.  Pour into 6 serving dishes and chill.
