Tried and don’t care for

Groceries:

Santa Cruz Organic Raspberry Jam.  Too sweet.

Crofter’s Blueberry Jam.  Too sweet.

Trader Joe’s Israeli Couscous

Recipes:

Asian Kale Salad (Sunset Magazine)
WAAAAAY too salty.  WHAT were they thinking??

Almond-Crusted Tilapia (Meal Makeover Moms)
Crust too sweet.  Poach plain fillets instead.

Baked Polenta with Cheese & Swiss Chard
Annoying assembly process.

Bob’s Red Mill Bran Flax Muffins
Too sweet!  Cut sugar by half and try again.

Broccoli Mushroom Noodle Casserole (Mollie Katzen)

Chocolate-Banana Shake (Pretend Soup)

Eating Well’s Corn and Bacon Chowder
Meh.

Double Strawberry Smoothie Pie (Meal Makeover Moms)
Texture too much like jello, soggy crust

Edgar Granola Shortbread Cookie (The Twisted Chef)
20 minute baking time WAY too long.  Dough too dry – rolls totally fell apart when cutting cookies.

Lentil Enchilada Bake (Meal Makeover Moms)

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Snack Squares
Too dry and crumbly, flavor lacking

Pepparkakor Spritz Cookies (Sparkpeople.com)
Dough too dense, cookies tough and chewy.

Powdered Sugar Pound Cake (Challenge Dairy)
Too sweet.

Quinoa Raisin Muffins (Clean & Delicious with Dani Spies)
Too dense, slightly off flavor.

Russian-Style Marinated Mushrooms (Quick Vegetarian Pleasures) 4/8/12
Not much flavor.  Prefer texture of cooked marinated mushrooms.

Slow Cooker Chicken Thigh Hot Pot (Sunset Magazine)

Stuck-Pot Rice with Lentils and Onions (Smitten Kitchen)
2/20/14 Despite carefully following the directions, rice and lentils did not get tender and a crust did not form.  Too much cumin, too.

Swope Bread (King Arthur Flour)
Too dense.

Texas Sheet Cake (Cooking Light)
Too sweet.  Not chocolatey enough.

Turkey Meatballs with Herb Salad (Sunset Magazine)
Dressing WAY too salty.  Meatballs were okay but nothing special.

White Bean Blondies (via Meal Makeover Moms)
Too sweet, too cakey, oatmeal seems out of place.

Zucchini Feta Flapjacks (Kashi recipe)
Bland and dense with flour – a bit gummy

Zucchini Fritter Cakes (Rachael Ray)
Not as good as Vegetable Pancakes.

Zucchini, Rice and Cheese Gratin (Smitten Kitchen from Julia Child)
